Not if installed correctly. Where the ceiling is a separating floor (between flats) or otherwise fire-rated, every downlight has to be installed inside a fire-rated hood that maintains the ceiling's 30 or 60-minute rating. We use named-product hoods (Tenmat, Tlc) and document the install on the EIC.
Often, yes. Lutron Caseta, Shelly modules, Hue and similar smart-dimming systems retrofit into existing wiring without a neutral at the switch (in many cases). We'll survey the existing setup, advise what'll work and what won't, and quote on commissioning + app setup as part of the install.
